Thank You!

Dear All,

Our volunteers have been absolute angels during the almost three years we have been in existence, and Haslington residents would have been in a far worse situation without the hard work the Haslington Support Volunteers put into easing a challenging situation for us all.

We thought our services wouldn’t be used as often, and to an extent, they haven’t been, but we are still working to ensure our community receive help when needed. As the majority of you are aware, the Support group is very heavily involved in a Cheshire East Council initiative to provide somewhere warm, with hot food and drinks, and the chance to have a natter and ask for assistance with problems if we can help. We may also be able to help with food for the cupboards and extra clothing for warmth, but we need to get the message out to those who may need to be aware of this facility.  This is all free.

We have the Gutterscroft and the Yoxall, where we hold a couple of 4-hour sessions each week, and we would like each of our volunteers, if they could and would, to possibly print out and deliver leaflets to those they may be aware of who could benefit from this.  If you are still available to help with the odd task or would like to help run a Warm SpaCE session, please do let us know – with busy lives since Covid restrictions stopped, a lot of volunteers have not been around, and sometimes it has been quite challenging to fulfil some requests. However, with the lousy weather upon us, the energy crisis and the cost of living situation, we have seen a surge in requests over the past week – and it’s predicted to be a little more lively than before!  Please drop a text back or leave us a message at 01270 419 119.

You are all unique to this community, and we are sure you will be able to help.  We would also like to add our gratitude and thanks to those everyone who has been on the receiving end of your assistance during your time with the Haslington Support Group. Merry Christmas and a Peaceful 2023 to us all.

Philip, Connie & Helen
(Yes, both Helen and Connie did ‘retire’ from the group – but as their dedication to the cause was that great, they ‘retired’ for hours/days and yet again stepped up and continued with their hard work for the community  – an extra special thank you to you both!)
